MACCE Annual Meeting – Don’t Miss Out!

Check out the line-up of great presentations:

Keynote:  From Overwhelmed to On Track:  Practical Leadership for Small Chambers
Kirsten Smith, Made To Thrive
Chamber executives are expected to be visionary leaders, relationship builders, program managers, and problem-solvers—often with little to no staff support. When everything feels important, it’s easy to get stuck reacting instead of leading.
This session is designed specifically for small and single-staff chambers who want more clarity, focus, and momentum without adding complexity or burnout. Attendees will learn simple, practical leadership tools to help them prioritize what truly matters, align their board and volunteers, and create traction—even with limited time and resources.

Grounded in real-world experience and proven operating principles (without the corporate jargon), this talk will help chamber leaders move from constant overwhelm to confident, intentional leadership.

Participants will leave with:

  • A clearer way to define and protect their chamber’s top priorities
  • Practical tools to create focus in a 90-day world
  • Insight into aligning boards and volunteers without conflict
  • A simple framework to help small teams get big results

If you’ve ever thought, “This makes sense—but I’m not sure I can do it alone,” you’re not wrong. And you’re not alone.

Role of Chambers of Commerce in Verifying and Endorsing Certificates of Origin
Julia Dvorko, Mass Export Center

This presentation will discuss the purpose, requirements, and best practices related to Certificates of Origin (COs) in global trade, with a focus on the role of Chambers of Commerce. Participants will learn what COs are, why they are required, and how they are used in global trade. This session will explain why chambers play a critical certification role under international conventions and outline common authentication requirements for country-of-origin documents. It will cover advantages and risks for chambers, including member value, revenue generation, administrative burden and liability concerns. Participants will also be introduced to the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and its global accreditation and verification initiatives, along with ICC best-practice guidelines for chambers.

Nicole Murphy of Attollo Creative will show chamber leaders how to leverage social media to raise visibility, strengthen member engagement, and turn online interactions into real business opportunities. Walk away with practical strategies to make your chamber the go-to resource for local businesses.

With real-world experience guiding organizations through high-stakes situations, Jason will share practical strategies for communicating clearly, confidently, and credibly when it matters most.
